An electrical network is an interconnection of electrical network elements, such as resistances, capacitances, inductances, voltage, and current sources.

Each network element is associated with two variables: the voltage variable v(t) and the current variable i(t).Reference directions are also assigned to the network elements as shown in Figure so that i(t) is positive whenever the current.

Computer-Aided Power Systems Analysis: Second Edition is a state-of-the-art presentation of basic principles and software for power systems in steady-state operation. Originally published inthis revised edition explores power systems from the point of view of the central control facility.

The book is an introduction to the computer-aided design of communication networks, based on a firm analytic foundation of circuit theory and numerical techniques.

It provides design procedures and techniques of filters, broadband matching networks, compatible impedances, high-frequency amplifiers, diplexers and multiplexers. Electrical Networks focuses on the principles, methodologies, practices, and approaches involved in electrical networks, including transformers, polarity, Zobel networks, and Fourier series.

The book first elaborates on d.c. currents and voltages and varying currents and voltages. @article{osti_, title = {Computer aided power systems analysis}, author = {Kusic, G.L.}, abstractNote = {This state-of-the-art presentation of basic principles and practices for analysis of power systems in steady-state operation focuses on the computer digital methods employed by the central monitor/control facility of large-scale electric utilities for short=circuit, power=flow.

Without understanding the circuit to be analyzed, we will never use any computer-aided analysis programme effectively and correctly. In this book we introduce PSPICE which, at the time of writing, is the most widely used programme for analyzing general electric and electronic circuits.
